The Northland Chamber holds the annual Excellence in Education Banquet in the spring of each year. This is the largest education celebration in the state of Missouri! This evening consists of a reception beginning at 5 p.m., followed by dinner and presentation at 6 p.m.
This unique event brings together 1,000 attendees from eight school districts and two counties in Kansas City’s Northland to acknowledge the important role that schools play in the economic development and quality of life in the region. This banquet will honor outstanding students, teachers, staff, volunteers and business supporters of Northland education. The highlight of the evening is the presentation of the Christa McAuliffe Pioneer in Education Award. This award is given to one outstanding classroom teacher who exhibits the kind of innovation, motivation and spirit demonstrated by Christa McAuliffe.
